11-11-11 A day of major change for the Marlins as owner Jeff Loria finally made the announcement of the new Miami Marlins at their new state of art ballpark in Little Havana, Miami. “Out with old and in with the new” was Loria’s mentality as he showed off the team’s new uniforms and logo, replacing the teams classic look with a more modern Miami twist. The traditional F has been replaced with an abstract representation of a marlin swirling around the top of the letter M. Also dropped from the new logo and uniforms is the marlins signature color of teal. The new colors used to represent the marlins are now a combination of orange, silver, yellow, and blue. As quoted by NBC "We are the red, orange of the breathtaking Miami sunsets, the blue of the sky and the sea, and yellow of Miami sunshine, " Loria said. Loria also made the announcement of four new uniforms, a white and orange for home games and for away games black and gray. Each uniform includes new colors and logos but one of the greater changes is that the away jerseys have Miami written across the chest in comparison to the Marlins. Loria says “We are proud of our hometown Miami and we wish to remind the world of this when we are out on the field”. When the players were asked about how they felt about their new uniforms all they gave was positive feedback, loving the colors, new look, and being part of such a memorable occasion. The players stated they can’t wait to get out there and play in them.
