Global Sponsorship Phenomenon

 

For this iteration of SME 5Q, we sat down in our new London offices with HSBC Group Head of Sponsorship, Giles Morgan, to discuss his philosophy on Sponsorship.

 

In case you’re wondering who Giles Morgan is, Giles has been the driving force in developing HSBC’s global sponsorship portfolio in sport and cultural programs since 2005. As an active sponsor in over 15 sports in 30 countries and territories, HSBC is committed to the development of sport through investment in youth and education in local communities around the world.

 

Prior to joining HSBC, Giles was a leading sponsorship marketing consultant with over 15 years of experience working with a wide variety of international clients including on the successful Athens Olympic Bid in 2004. In addition, Giles has worked in hand in hand with some of London’s top agencies and directors such as former British Lions and Scotland Rugby Captain Gavin Hastings. In 2001, Morgan was appointed to deputy-managing director of Craigie Taylor International and played an essential part in building and developing the client base for the company, and its subsequent acquisition by CSS Stellar in 2002 and the subsequent merger with GEM Group, we he became Managing Director.
